We are just about 38 weeks and I feel as though this child is going to fall out any minute. I have a few contractions here and there but they are very sporadic. I feel like I am holding a bowling ball permanently between my legs. Jason and I have been taking long walks every night just to try and get him out. At our doctor's appt. last week we were told that my uterus is measuring that of being 40 weeks pregnant and that our son was probably about 7 1/2 to 8 pounds. That was last week! Our doctor said she didn't see us going past 38 weeks so we will have to see what Reed decides. He is already stubborn and doesn't want to listen to his mother. Yikes, we are in for a long hull. Right now I am predicting that he will be here around the 7th of April. We have a doctor's appt. that day and if he isn't here by then she is going to "strip my membranes." I'm not %100 sure what that means but it sends many women into labor. I am keeping my fingers crossed that this will work for us. This could possibly be my last week of teaching. I am so ready!
Anyways...a few weeks ago I had an amazing friend take some maternity photos of Jason and I. Brannan, you did a fabulous job! Thank you so much, now we can cherish these memories forever.

Spring Break
Yes...I'm the whale in the dress with the dorky hat:) |
On Monday I had a girl trip to a Spring Training baseball game. We went to see the Giants take on the Brewers. It was so much fun to actually get out and relax in the hot sun. Believe me...it was HOT! I'm pretty sure that little Reed enjoyed the game as well. Besides my body blowing up like a balloon on occasion our pregnancy is going great. My feet and hands like to swell if I'm up for a long period of time.
On Thursday, Jason and I decided to take a day trip to Sedona. We thought we better get away while we still have the opportunity to just get up and go. We were also celebrating our 11 year anniversary. No, we haven't been married 11 years but we have been together that long. Each day our love grows stronger and stronger for one another. I can't wait to see our bond grow even more with the birth of our first child. We have been waiting a long time for this day and it's only 4 weeks away. Our Sedona trip was beautiful. We drove with the sun roof open and the stereo blasting. I was enjoying the wonderful weather and the awesome views. We then walked around many shops together and decided to have lunch on the rooftop of a Mexican Cantina. The only thing we ended up buying was some chocolate from the Sedona Chocolate Shop. I just couldn't resist:) Even with a baby on the way I hope we never loose track of us. Jason is my best friend and I just adore him everyday of my life.
Spring Break has been glorious! With only one day remaining I can't believe it flew by that fast. I only have a few weeks left with my students so I am going to enjoy every last moment with them.
Baby Shower
This past week sure has been a busy week. We started out Spring Break with my wonderful baby shower thrown by my fabulous friend Jamie. Many other friends and my mother chipped in for some extra help. I couldn't have asked for a better baby shower for my little guy. Thank you to all of you who attended and brought wonderful gifts. I feel much more prepared for Reed to enter the world. I can't wait to put him in some of his awesome new outfits. Reed is well on his way to owning far more clothes than I have. It's amazing to me how such a tiny little thing can take up so much space.

33 Weeks
33 Weeks pregnant |
We are just about 34 weeks and I'm feeling HUGE! I know I have about 6 weeks until my little guy arrives but I am counting down the days. Reed moves around all day and all night. I feel like he moves the most when I want to relax. I swear one day a foot is just going to pop right out of my skin. Although I am feeling more tired and my feet are starting to swell up at night we have enjoyed watching my tummy grow. Jason still rubs the belly as much as he can. He nursery is coming along very nicely.
Yesterday my wonderful students and their parents threw me a surprise baby shower in my classroom. I was VERY surprised. The kids had donuts with blue frosting and they watched me open a bunch of gifts. Even at age 6 they ohhh and ahhh at baby things, including the boys. My students love to just walk up to me and start rubbing my belly. It's kind of awkward when you're in the middle of a lesson and a kid just walks right up to you so they can touch your belly. I just can't believe I only have 4 more weeks left with my class. I am very glad, but at the same time I feel bad that I have to leave them. They have grown so much over the school year.
I am really looking forward to seeing many of my close friends and family next weekend for my baby shower. It will be so good to see my friends that I never get to see. That only means that I better get busy cleaning the house. YUCK!
My Valentine's Day cake (yes...I made it) |
Back in February Jason and I had a wonderful Valentine's Day. We grilled some delicious steaks, asparagus, salad, bread, and I tried to make a romantic Valentine's Day desert. We usually go for some martinis on Valentines but this year we had to celebrate without alcohol. Jason made my favorite non-alcoholic drink...Shirley Temples. Mmmm! It was our last Valentine's Day celebration with just the two of us. Next year we will have a third party to celebrate our love with.
Well, Spring Break is only one weeks away, and I can't wait. We plan on seeing some Spring Training games and hanging out with friends this break. No Rocky Point for me this year. I hope everyone has a safe and wonderful week.

Lookin' bigger, 28 weeks |
Here are a few more shots of our updated nursery. It is slowly coming along. My new hobby is finding things for Jason to do in the nursery. He LOVES IT!
We have little monkey's all around the room. |
